What is required to travel with us?
Are you joining us on an adventure soon, or you're thinking about it? As we’ll be travelling during the time of COVID-19, we want to make sure that you’re fully prepared for what to expect on your trip by providing some useful information:
- We recommend that you bring your own supply of masks. We will always have backup masks available, but we’ve found that our guests enjoy the comfort of their own.
- Please also bring some hand sanitiser and/or disinfecting wipes. There will be plenty available in our vans and venues but it’s good to have a backup.
- As part of our pre-departure checks, we will ask you to review and acknowledge our health information and guidelines explained below.
over the age of 12 (i.e. 13 years and above) must provide proof of the following before starting your trip with us:
- Full vaccination against COVID-19. This needs to be your official vaccination card (take a photo of your card on your phone for easy access) or official electronic copy. We must be able to see your name and your vaccination date(s) as well as proof that the vaccination dose(s) were administered at least 14 days before the first day of your trip. Active Adventures accepts vaccines authorized or recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
- Patients who have recovered from COVID-19 can continue to test positive up to 3 months after recovery, so vaccinated guests who have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 3 months are also required to bring documentation of recovery (original dated positive test result).
For adults who cannot be vaccinated due to valid medical exemptions:
- Verifiable negative COVID-19 test result (official paper or official electronic test results). Testing must be performed by an approved entity using a viral test (NAAT/PCR or antigen). We must be able to see your name, the date the specimen was collected, and the type of test. A negative test result must show the test was done within 72 hours before the first day of your trip.
- If you’ve recovered from COVID-19 in the last three months, you can provide documentation of recovery instead, which includes:
- a positive test result, and
- a letter from your doctor that states you have been cleared to travel. This documentation must show your name, the date the specimen was collected, and the type of test. A positive test result must show that the test was done within 3 months of the first day of your trip.
Prior to joining your trip, you will be asked to confirm the following:
- You must wear a face-covering that fully covers both your nose and mouth when physical distancing is not possible or if regulations require you to do so. Your guides will let you know what is required based on current regulations.
- Your temperature may be taken for screening purposes.
- You have not been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 21 days.
- You have completed a self-assessment and you currently, or within the last 14 days have not experienced any of the following:
- Temperature of 38 C/100.4 F or above
- Cough
- Loss of taste or smell
- Breathing difficulties (other than from known pre-existing condition)
- Chills
- Muscle pain (unrelated to a specific activity or incident)
- Sore throat
- Diarrhea
- Vomiting or nausea
- In the last 14 days, you have not been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 or who has had any of the symptoms above.
Please also note:
- It is your responsibility to check the specific requirements of each country you are visiting, as regulations vary and change often.
- The above information applies only if you have no current COVID-19 symptoms prior to the start of your trip. If you experience any COVID-19 symptoms while you’re on a trip, you will need to seek medical advice immediately and may require a negative test to continue your trip.
- As per your Travel Agreement, travel insurance is mandatory for all Active Adventures guests travelling internationally.
