Active Adventures Guide in New Zealand | Austin Adventures Guide in Canada

Alicia grew up in a small town near Christchurch in the South Island of New Zealand. She has always been into playing sports and exploring the world around her. Fast forward to now, where she gets to share the love of her homeland with guests from all over the globe.

What's your favorite travel destination?

This is a hard one! South Korea, Cambodia, and Switzerland

What's your favorite adventure activity and why?

I love to hike, bike, swim, surf, and ski. New Zealand is perfect for doing all these things, as is Switzerland (a part from surfing!)

What has been your most inspiring adventure experience?

Experiencing the culture, people, and environment when teaching English in Cambodia.

What's your favorite Active Adventures or Austin Adventures trip?

I love the Ultimate South Island Adventure because we can experience so many unique and beautiful places in 14 days. I love watching guests experience the beauty and culture of Aotearoa (the Māori word for New Zealand).

When did you first get the travel bug?

When I was 21 years old, I got the opportunity to teach English in South Korea for two years. That set me off and i have been in love with traveling and exploring the world ever since!

Why did you want to become an Active Adventures and Austin Adventures Guide?

I have always enjoyed being in nature and after traveling for most of my twenties, I understood how fortunate I was to be from Aotearoa and wanted to share this beautiful land with individuals traveling to New Zealand. 

What destination would you most like to travel to (that you haven't been to yet)?

Sri Lanka!

Do you have any favorite hobbies or special talents you could tell us about?

When I am not outside hiking or surfing, I love creating Natural Face and Body Scrubs and selling these at local markets.
